Eight Stepping Stones staff confidently say that they are now more effective managers after completing the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 3 Award in Effective Management with NICVA.

Cara Cash, Business Development Manager for Stepping Stones and one of the course participants, said:

“Taking this ILM qualification has been a fantastic opportunity for the organisation. It has really boosted my confidence and the confidence of our managers, providing them with the skills to become more effective in their jobs. We definitely feel more focused and hope to build on our newly acquired skills by taking them back with us into the workplace.”

Charmain Filmer, Skills Development Officer (Accreditation), designed and delivered the three day programme providing Stepping Stones managers with the skills and confidence needed to manage work teams effectively, deliver quality feedback and maintain a happy workforce by setting and achieving organisational goals. She commented:

“Managing performance effectively is a fundamental requirement of a good manager, but that doesn’t mean that it is easy to do. Stepping Stones’ main focus for training was to understand how their new strategy would affect the management of their staff.

“Working with Stepping Stones I was able to use real examples to simplify their performance management tools; focusing on staff engagement and motivation particularly when managing underperformance.”

NICVA wishes Stepping Stones every success and trusts that the Effective Management programme has equipped eight staff members with valuable skills and knowledge.

NICVA is an approved ILM centre offering a range of qualifications tailored for the voluntary and community sector. The training is available through the NICVA training calendar and as bespoke training delivered to individual organisations.
