I’ve been part of the Stepping Stones NI family for over 20 years. When I first joined, I was shy and unsure of myself. New situations felt scary, and I didn’t always think I could achieve very much.

Over time, with support and encouragement, that changed. Stepping Stones NI helped me discover what I’m good at, build my confidence, and gain qualifications I’m really proud of. With their guidance, I was able to move into paid employment at a care home, supporting the catering team, and I also work at the 2nd Avenue Café, where I welcome customers and enjoy meeting new people.

I’ve made friends, become more independent, and learned to believe in myself. Looking back, I can see just how far I’ve come, and I’m proud of everything I’ve achieved.
