Stepping Stones NI Has Changed My Life – Pauline’s Story

can find loud noises and changes to routine difficult, but at Stepping Stones NI, I’m supported in a way that helps me feel safe, calm, and confident.

I attend Navigation House, Stepping Stones NI’s horticulture and wellbeing hub. Here, I get to develop practical horticulture skills, take part in wellbeing activities, and spend time outdoors in beautiful, tranquil surroundings. With support from the horticulture team, I’ve learned how to grow flowers, plants, fruit, and vegetables, and I also enjoy yoga, Zumba, walking, mindfulness, and creative activities. Being in this calm, structured environment has helped me grow in confidence and independence, manage challenges, and try new experiences at my own pace.

I’ve also completed courses including SPARKS Advancers Numeracy, Good Customer Care, and NUCO Food Safety, which has helped me build new skills and feel proud of what I’ve achieved.

I stay busy with choir and dance groups, but Stepping Stones NI is a place that really matters to me. It has changed my life and helped me believe in myself.

We Make More Possible.
