Celebrating Invisible Disabilities Week at Stepping Stones NI
his week, Stepping Stones NI is proud to celebrate Hidden Disabilities Week - a time to raise awareness and understanding of the many disabilities that aren’t always visible.
A hidden or invisible disability can include a wide range of conditions such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, mental health challenges, chronic pain, and hearing or visual impairments. While these conditions may not be immediately apparent, they can have a significant impact on a person’s daily life and the barriers they face.
At Stepping Stones NI, we believe that disability should never define potential. With the right support, understanding, and opportunities, anyone can thrive in work, training, and life.
Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing stories and experiences from our trainees across our services. Their journeys highlight not only the challenges of living with hidden disabilities, but also the incredible achievements that can be made when inclusion and support are at the heart of everything we do.
We’re encouraging everyone to take a moment this week to learn more about hidden disabilities and the importance of kindness, patience, and accessibility for all.
If you or someone you know is living with a hidden disability and could benefit from our training, employment, or support services, get in touch at info@stepping-stones.org.uk.
