Fifty-Five Graduates Celebrate Success Through the Labour Market Partnership Disability Employment Programme
A proud moment for participants, employers, and everyone involved in a programme focused on opportunity, inclusion, and progress.
On Wednesday 2nd July, we were thrilled to celebrate the achievements of 55 local people who took part in the Labour Market Partnership Disability Employment Programme, a year-long initiative designed to support individuals with a disability or health condition on their journey towards employment.
Delivered by Stepping Stones NI on behalf of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Labour Market Partnership, the programme supported participants in developing their skills, building confidence, and taking real steps forward in their employment goals. All 55 individuals achieved accredited qualifications and we’re proud to share that 26 are now in sustained employment.
The celebration event was held at Armagh City Hotel and opened with breakfast networking before guests heard from a range of speakers. Alderman Stephen Moutray, Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, welcomed attendees, followed by Andrew Irwin from the Department for Communities and Paula Jennings, our Chief Officer at Stepping Stones NI, who reflected on the partnership and the positive impact the programme has had across the borough.
Participants Emma Reynolds and Adam McCann kindly shared their experiences and how the programme helped them grow and achieve. Employer Courtney Harrison from EE also joined us to speak about the benefits of inclusive recruitment and her experience working with programme participants.
Certificates were presented to all graduates by Mayor Moutray and Paula Jennings, recognising the effort and achievements of everyone involved. We were also pleased to welcome local Job & Benefits Office representatives from Armagh, Lurgan and Banbridge, as well as Tim McClelland, Chair of the Economic Development and Regeneration Committee, who shared a few words of support.
Carla Frazer, Director of Employability and Partnerships at Stepping Stones NI, brought the morning to a close with a final message of congratulations to the graduates – reminding them that this is just the beginning of what’s possible.
A huge well done to every single person who took part in the programme. Your commitment, resilience, and achievements are what this work is all about!
