From Training to Employment: Owen & Andrew Begin New Careers with McCulla
Owen and Andrew, have successfully secured full-time employment with McCulla, Lisburn as Warehouse Operatives.
Both Owen and Andrew began their new roles this week as full-time warehouse operatives at McCulla Lisburn and have already settled in well, supported by David Bates, Warehouse Manager, and Michael Hanna, HR and People Lead.
Owen’s Journey
Before joining the academy, Owen was moving between temporary contracts. After hearing about us through the Jobs and Benefits Office, he completed our Level 2 Manual Handling and Level 2 Health & Safety training.
Now thriving in his new role at McCulla, Owen shared this advice for others:
“Don’t be disheartened if you only find temporary contracts at first — the right permanent opportunity close to home will come along when the time is right.”
Andrew’s Journey
Andrew came to the academy after a period of unemployment, having spotted the opportunity on Indeed. Like Owen, he completed Level 2 Manual Handling and Level 2 Health & Safety training, which gave him the skills and confidence to move into full-time employment.
Andrew’s advice to others is clear:
“Take every bit of training and support you can — it builds your confidence and makes a huge difference when the right job comes along.”
