Accessible Apprenticeship Programme Launch

Launch of the New Accessible Apprenticeship Programme

Supporting local graduates to overcome barriers and build meaningful careers

We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council to deliver the Accessible Apprenticeship Programme. This exciting initiative provides graduates facing barriers to employment or living with a long-term health condition the opportunity to return to work or start a new career.

Delivered through the Lisburn & Castlereagh Labour Market Partnership and funded by the Department for Communities, this fully funded programme offers personalised career support, practical skills development, and direct connections with local employers committed to creating inclusive workplaces.

The programme is designed to empower graduates to build confidence, develop their skills, and move closer to sustainable employment. It will support ten participants from the Lisburn & Castlereagh area to take the next step in their career journey.

What the Programme Offers

Participants will benefit from:

  • One-to-one mentoring and career coaching, tailored to individual needs

  • A personalised action plan to build skills and confidence

  • Access to a network of inclusive local employers across a range of sectors

  • Support with applications, interviews, and job matching to help secure the right opportunities

Whether you’re just starting out, looking to re-enter the workforce, or ready to explore new opportunities, this programme is designed to support you every step of the way.

Cllr Claire Kemp, Regeneration & Growth Chair, said:
