A City That Sees Me – Photographic Exhibition Launch

Today marks the launch of ‘A City That Sees Me’ photographic exhibition exploring the inclusion of people with learning disabilities through photography.

This exhibition shares the lives and perspectives of people with learning disabilities as they move through the place they live and work, capturing how they feel about inclusion in public spaces, and in moments of connection and independence.

Thirteen participants from Stepping Stones NI have spent the past month engaged in photography workshops, developing new skills and exploring photography as a way to tell their stories of inclusion. Using their phones and their own creative vision, they have captured moments and experiences that reflect how they see themselves participating in society and the world around them.

Too often, people with learning disabilities experience being overlooked or excluded. This exhibition invites people to slow down, to notice, and to recognise the presence, value, and individuality of every person in our community.

The launch takes place at Navigation House in Lisburn and is open to the public from 12:45pm – 3:00pm Thursday 21 May 2026 with the exhibition permanently online at www.steppingstonesni.com
